We Are Here!

Hi Everyone!

We are Cloë and Tallulah aka The Church Dogs! We thought since we've been gone for so long that we should reintroduce ourselves - ha! ha!. Our apologies for the too long break!

Don't you think we look good! Yesterday we spent the day at the groomers having a bath and being brushed and brushed and brushed. And Gina gave us our Valentine bandanas.

I feel 10lbs lighter Cloë with all that extra fur gone.

Although we have been lazing around, our friend Lacy at Catholic Icing has been very busy coming up with all sorts of cool ideas. So today we thought we'd share a few of them with you.

Those really are cool ideas Cloë! Can you guess which one I like best?

I imagine your favourite is the ABC Snack Ideas.

You are right - how did you guess?

Because you are always thinking about your stomach Tallulah.

Oh yea, you're right I am - he! he! he!. So what's your favourite?

Well I like them all but I really like the peg doll saints, they are so cute!

We have to get our master to help us make a few of these right Cloë!

We sure do Talllulah!

Well that's it for today. See ya soon - really!

Jesus' Baptism

So we told you earlier this week that the 12 days of Christmas had come to an end, and they did. But actually, today is really the end of the Christmas season in the Church.

I remember Cloë, we talked about this last year

That's right Cloë. Most of the people we know were baptized when they were little babies but in Jesus' day they baptized people as adults.

Do you remember where Jesus was baptized and by whom?

It was his cousin, John the Baptist.

And he baptized him in the Jordan River.

Our master, our granny and our uncle (in the 2 photos) all renewed their baptismal promises in the Jordan River when they were in Israel last year.

I bet that was exciting Cloë.

It sure was. So Tallulah, do you remember what special thing happens when a human is baptized.

I sure do, they become an official member of the Church and of God's family.

Very good Cloë. Once you have been baptized you also become:

a priest,

a prophet and

a king.

We are going to talk about each of these roles during the next week.

So stay tuned everybody!

Finally, ask mom and dad about the day of your baptism. Ask to see the keepsakes: the white garment, baptismal candle, prayers, photos, and other symbols of your baptism!

Last Day of Christmas!

Merry Christmas for the last time! Today is the 12th day of Christmas. Today is called the Epiphany of our Lord. It is the day that the 3 Wise Men arrive to meet Jesus.

Wow Cloë it seems like Christmas Day was so long ago.

I guess it was Tallulah, 12 days ago to be exact. We actually celebrated the Epiphany this past Sunday but today is the official day.

So who were these guys again?!

They were three men who were from the East. They were probably men who studied the stars since it was the bright star that made them travel to Bethlehem.

They were also God's way of telling us that Jesus came for everyone all over the world and not just the people of Israel.

Look at the colouring page I found to help celebrate this day. Click here to download this as well as other colouring pages.

And finally here is a video to recap the whole story!

Today is also a special day for another reason. Today is the feast day of Saint Brother André! He is the Canadian brother who dreamed up the idea of building a giant church on Mount Royal in Montreal.

Cloë, we have talked about that church before haven't we - it's St. Joseph's Oratory.

That's right Tallulah. If you have not visited, it's worth the drive! Here is a short video that tells his story.

Well that's it - Woof!
