Ok so we aren't really in Brazil, but we sure wish we were, since so many exciting things are happening in Rio de Janeiro these days. As we told you the other day the World Youth Days are happening in Rio as we speak.
Even though WYD is for the big people we thought it might be interesting to know more about Brazil and about Rio.

One of the most famous statutes in the whole world is in Rio.
Do you know who it is?
I know, I know, it's Jesus!
That's right Tallulah, it is called Christ the Redeemer and it watches over
the city of Rio and really the whole world.
In Brazil they call the statue Cristo Redentor.
It is 40 metres high!!
That sounds pretty tall, is it taller than our master?
It sure is. To give you an idea of just how big that is
the Argentinosaurus was the longest dinosaur and they were 36 metres.
The Peace Tower in Ottawa is just over 45 metres high.
Ok Cloë enough with all the lessons, what about Pope Francis and what is happening in Rio. I found a few pictures on the Vatican's website.
Did you know Tallulah that there are a few people from our area who are in Rio.
Finally, in the spirit of World Youth Days why not rent the movie RIO!
