Feast of Saint Joseph + Happy B-Day to our Bishop

Today March 19th is a very exciting day, there is just so much happening!

First, we remember Saint Joseph in a very special way.

 I know who Saint Joseph is Cloë. He is Jesus' dad here on earth!

That's right Tallulah. We don't know a lot about Joseph. We do know that he took his role of protecting Mary and Jesus very seriously. He protected them on the trip to Bethlehem.

And when the evil Herod was looking for Jesus, Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt to keep them safe.

We know that he was a carpenter and that he taught Jesus how to be a carpenter.

Hey Cloë, I found this great video of the Christmas story, the main story in the Bible that involves Joseph.

Joseph is also the special patron saint of many, including the whole of the Catholic Church, fathers and even Canada.

Cloë, did you remember that today is also our Bishop's birthday!

 

I did Tallulah. In fact, to celebrate, he is presiding at a special mass in honour of Saint Joseph at Saint Joseph's Oratory.
