Third Sunday of Lent - The Woman at the Well

This Sunday''s Gospel is the story of Jesus and the woman from Samaria that he meets at the well.

In this story, Jesus teaches us that every person is important, no matter who they are, where they are from or what they have or have not done.

Hey that sounds like you and me Cloë. I know I certainly love everyone and am always trying to say hi to people and give them a kiss.

You are right Tallulah, we dogs do try to love everyone. But for some reason humans sometimes have a tougher time with this. So that is why Jesus is an example to them in this story.

In Jesus' time, a Jewish man could not be alone speaking to a woman. In addition, the Jews and Samaritans did not get along at all. And this particular woman wasn't even liked by her own community. But Jesus did not care about all that, He just wanted to let her know about His Father and the Good News that God loves everyone and wants to be friends with everyone.

Wow! I bet she was excited to know that.

She was indeed Tallulah, in fact she went back to her community to share the Good News.

Bottom line: No one is unimportant to God, He loves everyone!
