Advent - Day 7 - The Feast of Saint Nicholas

Today many countries in Europe celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas.

Saint Nicholas was born more than 1,700 years ago in what today is the country of Turkey!

His parents died when Nicholas was still very young. But they left him three precious gifts.

1. Lots of money

2. Faith in God.

3. A generous heart.

Nicholas spent his life giving his money and his help to those who needed it most.

In particular, he had a special place in his heart for children.

Eventually he became a bishop.

Today we often refer to Santa Claus as Saint Nick! Although they are not the same person, Santa Claus definitely got his best ideas from Saint Nicholas.

Below is a nifty video that shows you how to make an origami Saint Nicholas!

What the heck is origami Cloë?!

It's when you take a piece of ordinary paper and by folding it in many different ways you end up with a neat like sculpture.

Sounds interesting, although I mostly like to tear paper apart! Hee Hee!

Yes we know Tallulah.

Happy Saint Nicholas Day - Woof!
