A Month of Sundays - Part III

Wow Cloë! I cannot believe that every single Sunday in June has been an important feast day (not that every Sunday is not important!) What have we got coming up this Sunday?

It is the feast day of two of our greatest saints!

Let me guess! I bet Peter is one of them!

That's right.

And maybe Paul?!

Very good Tallulah, I'm glad to see that you are remembering so many of the things that you have been learning.

So why do we celebrate them on the same day if they are both so important?

That is because between Peter and Paul they were responsible for founding the Catholic Church in Rome, what we call the Latin Church.

Peter was one of Jesus' disciples. He was a fisherman. He denied Jesus three times the night they arrested Jesus, but then he became the "rock upon which Jesus built the church.

Paul was one of the great persecutors of the church. He did terrible things to the followers of Jesus. But one day, Jesus decided he had had enough, and He wanted Paul to use all that energy to spread Jesus' message.

I guess that means that Jesus can work with anybody if we just let Him, right?!

Here are short videos to tell you more about these two great men.

On Sunday many of our priests will be changing parishes. Our priest, Fr. Jerome, is moving down the street to St. Columban. Fr. Kevin will be coming to our parish.

Have we ever met Fr. Kevin before Cloë? Did he like us?

I do believe we have Tallulah, and I'm sure he will be very happy to know that we go to his parish.

Bye Fr. Jerome! Woof! Woof! Welcome Fr. Kevin! Woof!
